Η λυσίνη( σε συντομογραφια LYS η και Κ ) είναι ένα αμινοξύ με τη χημικη φόρμουλα HO2CCH(NH2)(CH2)4NH25130151300. Είναι αρκετά σημαντικό για τον άνθρώπινο οργανισμό καθώς δέ μπορεί να συνθεθεί στο ανθρώπινο σώμα επισης αξιζει να σημειωθει οτι ανοικει στην αμινομαδα ε και ειναι τοσο σημαντικό όσο η ιστιδίνη και η αργινινη.
Όπως αναφέραμε παραπάνω η Λυσίνη δέ μπορεί να συντεθεί στο ανθρώπινο σώμα. συντίθεται μέσω του ασπαρτικού οξέως με ορισμένα φυτά και μεταβολίζεται στον ανθρώπινο οργανισμό σε ακετυλο-CoA μεσω της τρανσαμινωσης με α-ketoglutarate ωστε να καταλήξει να δώσει cadaverine μεσα απο την αποκαρβοξυλωση που προηγείται
Πέραν όμως της βιοσύνθεσής τής, καθώς δέν είναι αυτό το θέμα μας, η λυσίνη είναι αρκετά χρήσιμη για τον οργανισμό για πολλούς και διάφορους λόγους

ΔΟΣΟΛΟΓΙΑ
η λυσίνη πρέπει να λαμβάνεται σε ποσοστά 12 μιλιγρκαμ ανα σωματικο κιλο βάρους ημερησίως(αναφερόμενοι πάντα σε έναν ενήλικα). Οπότε άν υποθέσουμε οτι ένας αθλητής βάρους 85 κιλών θέλει να καταναλώσει λυσίνη, η ποσότητα πρέπει να είναι 1020 μιλιγκραμ. δηλαδη 1,02 γραμμαρια.
Δέν υπάρχει, ωστόσο , κάποιος συγκεκριμένος οδηγός για τη Λυσίνη, συνίσταται βέβαια να καταναλώνεται σε 3 εώς 5 δώσεις ημερησίως,
Επίσης δέν έχει αναφερθεί πουθενά οτι πρέπει να γίνεται κύκλος στη λήψη λυσίνης
