As you know, making optimal muscle and strength gains in the gym requires that you train, eat, and rest properly.

Most people focus mainly on manipulating training protocols. Some focus equally on their diets. Few, however, understand the importance of rest and recovery and incorporate enough of both in their routines.

Common mistakes are:

Engaging in intense exercise 6-7 days per week.
Training for prolonged periods every day (1.5+ hours).
Relying solely on very high-volume weightlifting routines that cause large amounts of muscular damage.
